Treemedia

Russia · since 2003

Treemedia describes itself as an independent Russian publisher, focused on author photo albums and on books about the history and theory of photography, to which it later added ethnography and traditional beliefs. Its first book came out in 2003, and its catalogue of more than sixty editions runs from photo albums to small-run zines and corporate catalogues, with print runs from a few hundred copies to several thousand. Treemedia also works for clients, offering design, layout, prepress, production and distribution of print and electronic publications.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
