Lazy Dog

Milan, Italy · since 2012

Lazy Dog Press is an independent publishing house of visual culture founded in Milan in 2012, with administration and warehouse in Verona and art direction and book design by Bunker, a graphic design studio in Modena. The name comes from the end of the pangram used to test fonts, and the list follows: books and essays on calligraphy, typography, illustration, photography, graphic design, architecture and the visual arts, including a series on the history of visual communication. The house works on text and image together, chooses books for the quality of content and form, and complements them with exhibitions and workshops. The catalogue is organised by subject, kits for type specimens and posters sit beside the books, and photography is one subject among several.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
