Dalpine

Madrid, Spain · since 2010

Dalpine is a Madrid publishing house, founded in 2010, that encourages collaboration between photographers, artists and designers to produce limited-edition books. Its work goes beyond the books: it also helps spread photographic and artistic work through exhibitions organised with museums and institutions, and it sells its own titles from a web shop, with a section of its site for bookshops. A second strand comes through Fiebre Photobook, the Madrid photobook festival, which lists Dalpine among its collaborators: the winning project of the festival's Dummy Award is co-edited with Dalpine, which is why some books in the archive carry both names. Its list therefore mixes the house's own commissions with projects chosen by an open call.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
