Dewi Lewis
Dewi Lewis Publishing was founded in 1994 by Dewi Lewis and Caroline Warhurst, who run it as a partnership, and it publishes no more than about twenty new titles a year. Its aim is plain: accessible but challenging contemporary photography for a wider audience, established names and lesser-known photographers side by side. Lewis came from the Manchester arts world, as founding director of the centre behind Cornerhouse Publications, and the list has kept that public, curatorial spirit, with a strong British documentary line. It also carries award-winning fiction, with Booker Prize nominations, and sports books. In 2018 the house won the Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook of the Year and the Rencontres d'Arles Author Book Prize.
