Edition Patrick Frey is named for an actor, comedian and author who is also a publisher, and it publishes like a maker of one-off projects: small print runs, a few titles a year, each conceived on its own terms. The Zurich house has worked since 1986 mainly with Swiss artists, and its declared purpose is to give young ones a platform with a first publication while staying with established ones for decades. The subject is everyday and popular culture, from pop and sport to politics and the body, and the same list can hold a photobook, a drawing book and a collection of texts. Think of it as an art publisher of everyday life.

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
