Daylight Books
Daylight describes itself as a non-profit publisher, founded in 2003, that seeks out emerging and mid-career photographers and shows their work to a global audience in print and digital form. Its stated aim is to revitalise the relationship between art, photography and the world at large, and the list puts documentary work beside conceptual fine-art projects, with the intention of raising awareness of important issues. The model is open: besides the books it runs a magazine and awards, offers fiscal sponsorship to organisations and individuals, and takes submissions with no reading fee, asking only that the sender has bought a book or a printed issue. It is a place to meet photographers early in their careers.
