TOKYO SEQUENCE is a project by photographer and film director Yoshiyuki Okuyama and FACETASM that started in 2020. This is a visual presentation of the ever-changing city of Tokyo and the diverse people who live and breathe there, with a total of 200 people in all. The images were shot with an 8mm film camera, and from each frame of the contact prints, three frames were selected, each of which represents less than one second of time (0.0 seconds), to create a continuous visual representation of the changing Tokyo, the unique personalities and the fashion of FACETASM.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
