39 Bilder is, after several catalogues, the second monographic work by Ingar Krauss (*1965, Berlin). His first book Portraits from 2005, with portraits of children and adolescents, already showed his independent position in the art-photography scene of our time. In 39 Bilder, Krauss presents 39 still lifes whose pictorial content he takes from the rural surroundings of his photo studio in the Oderbruch: vegetables, fruit, grain, flowers, animals, which he photographs analogue under natural light in self-built stage boxes, in his own darkroom.
