Words in freedom and vintage photographs, Fisheye in una bolla is an attempt to relate to a personal and collective memory by continually overturning the boundaries between truth and fiction. Just like the wide-angle lens cited in the title, which offers a real but deformed vision. Notes and stories are partly inspired by the subjective reading of “anonymous” photographs found by the author in places dear to her: Rome, New York, Kochi, Tokyo; but also by leafing through the family album. Sometimes, however, the process is reversed. Fisheye in una bolla also intends to bring attention back to the physicality of the photographic medium in the post-digital era and to the very potential of photographic archives, precious tools of documentation, stimulating devices for creativity.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
