A project on the borderline between life and death. Jisei, the last word spoken before death; ku, referring to the poetic moment. Within the volume are short poems expressing a final thought, a farewell to the world by samurai and monks who wished to leave one before disappearing forever. Silvia Montevecchi chooses some of the verses she found most evocative, tries to extract their core, and reworks this sensation through photography, recreating a fantastic world outside time and reality, in which death becomes a moment of suspension, a step towards the unknown.
