Published for the exhibition at the Reggia di Caserta, the book gathers some of the central themes of Antonio Biasiucci’s research and builds a path through images that seem to emerge from a remote depth and resurface in the present. Bread, volcanoes, skulls, bodies, water, organic and mineral fragments form a primary alphabet of existence: everyday and at once original forms, close and archaic, able to go beyond the individual dimension and become collective images. Photography here does not document but digs into matter and its deep layers, letting unexpected relations between things and traces of an older memory surface: bread can become body, milk cosmos, stone an inner landscape.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
