Schuman's first monograph goes through the ethnographic museum in Kraków — its collections and displays, its particular customs and culture — by way of his own family history. In one sense it is specifically about the regional and cultural inheritance of his ancestors, and at the same time it examines how that inheritance was collected, preserved, archived and put on show.
