Tony Gentile's name is almost unknown to the wider public, although he made an extraordinary picture that everyone knows and that has become an icon of recent Italian history: the image of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino talking in confidence.

He made that and other frames in the terrible years when the mafia war was drenching Sicily in blood, leaving hundreds dead. Thirty years on, the volume gathers a body of work caught by his lens in that time.
