Critical essay by Luca Beatrice

The volume documents a kind of photographic reportage in which the author sought to give visual voice to the women of Soresina, his fellow townswomen, inviting them to become the protagonists of an artwork. Within it, nude bodies portrayed in domestic interiors reclaim an everyday sensuality, despite their apparent awkwardness, standing in contrast to the conventional standards of eroticism typically promoted by fiction and commercial television.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
