Published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name at the mumok museum in Vienna, this catalogue reflects on the observation of people — their bodies, movements and relation to surroundings — that lies at the core of the artist's diverse oeuvre. These haptic relations and interactions are seen undergoing massive shifts in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and technological change. The selection ranges from early photographs produced in the pop-culture milieu of the 1990s to acclaimed photographic abstractions, high-resolution images of a globalized and digitalized reality, and photographs taken shortly before and during the pandemic.
