Issue 17 of the A24 zine series, guest edited by Sean Baker and published to accompany Red Rocket (2021), his portrait of a washed-up porn star returning to his Texas hometown, starring Simon Rex. Designed as a classified-ads circular, the zine is an homage to American hustlers — sex workers, 1-800 psychics, savant counterfeiters, multi-level marketing believers — mixing real and invented advertisements based on real figures. Baker connects the theme to the hustler characters across his films, from Take Out and Prince of Broadway to Tangerine and The Florida Project, and to his own early days reselling garage-sale bicycles.
