The images in this book are a look along the footsteps of an immense country. A passionate journey, through more than 120 photographs, full of beauty and saudade, through the territories that make up the Lusophone universe: Angola, Mozambique, Portugal, Cape Verde, Goa, Timor, Brazil and Macao. José Manuel Navia has travelled through Portugal and its former colonies, collecting the appeal and humanity of its most varied corners, its people, its living and its dead. His interest in Portugal and in Portuguese literature led him first to photograph in the neighbouring country, from north to south, islands included, and then to follow the Portuguese footsteps to other corners of the earth. The images are accompanied by quotations from Portuguese-language writers such as Guimarães Rosa, António Lobo Antunes, Mia Couto or Miguel Torga, from whom Navia took the title. Second edition.
