MUFOCO - Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea

This publication is linked to the exhibition “Veggenti. Nuove ricerche visive sul paesaggio italiano (New Visual Research on Italian Landscape)”, held at the Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea from 14 December 2024 to 30 March 2025.

The works included in the catalogue were acquired in December 2023 through the open call “L’Italia è un desiderio”, promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea, in collaboration with the Fondazione Alinari per la Fotografia and the Scuderie del Quirinale.

The second part of the catalogue presents a selection of materials—images, notes, documents and reflections—provided by the artists themselves. These contributions offer insight into their research processes and allow for a deeper understanding of the development of each project.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
