Tomoki Imai usually works with a 4x5 camera on a tripod, as in his earlier books Mahiru (Seigensha Art Publishing, 2001) and Light and Gravity (Little More, 2009), but this book was composed from 35mm pictures at the suggestion of the publisher. Among images of beautiful light there are the entrance of an obsolete cafe, a fountain in a park, a couple at a street crossing and a white bird in a cage, along with eight photographs of braille pages reproduced from Truman Capote's short story. The photographer chose his subjects in a deep quest for an answer to how he could sympathise with blind people, and whether that is even possible. His journey between the visible and the invisible evokes an everlasting loneliness in a labyrinth.
