A new series in which Takashi Homma follows the traces of deer hunting through deep, snowy mountains. A trail of red blood runs across white snow, up steep slopes and over a river, and each scene reads like an abstract painting on canvas while holding the drama between hunters and their quarry. Homma, known for his cool large-format 4x5 views of Tokyo and its surroundings since the mid-1990s, turns here to nature, in the way his clear pictures of cities held the confusion of lives and people.
