A portrait of Ryohei Kondo, a contemporary dancer and the leader of the dance company Condors, whose vigorous, lithe performances are well received internationally. Sakiko Nomura draws out his exceptional talent on black-and-white 35mm film, in scenes at many locations across Japan that capture his look of fearless determination. The dancer sometimes glares hard into her lens and sometimes performs like a bird of prey in her viewfinder, and the pictures show both his complete trust and his challenge to her camera. The silver and gold used on the cover bring out the strength of her characteristic black. An exhibition of the same title toured several cities after the book came out at the end of 2006.
