Photographs taken in Kanazawa, a city of long cultural tradition facing the Sea of Japan. Male models lie relaxed on a bed and look straight into Sakiko Nomura's camera, and the whole book is designed to convey the intimate atmosphere between the photographer and her sitters. The black-and-white prints render the bodies with a tender, sensual texture. The blank page facing each photograph is printed in a pale cream tint, a colour that casts a subtle shade over the picture and lets the reader share the time and space of the sessions. The title is the name of the moon god in the oldest legends of Japan, a deity who symbolises the night.
