In Korean, nim is a term of respect added after a person's title or name. The zine is a meditation on the ephemeral, a whisper in the dark and a trace left behind, in which memory and presence dissolve into light and shadow. Each image was captured in the same place, at the same time, under natural light, and is shaped by the presence of different subjects and by the subtle shifts of atmosphere: the light changes with the weather, softening or sharpening, casting long shadows or diffusing into a quiet glow, and touches each subject differently, turning familiar spaces into something transient and unrepeatable. The work does not seek to document but to evoke quiet echoes of what was and what could have been, held in a tension between intimacy and mystery, revelation and concealment. Time unravels in layered moments of identity, longing and impermanence; like a half-remembered dream, the images resist fixation and leave interpretation open, letting light, texture and absence shape meaning as a sequence of fleeting impressions and quiet murmurs.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
