Bharat Sikka turns his camera on his father, a former officer in the Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army — a sapper. Made over several years, the sequence moves between staged portraits, the rooms and objects of a family home and the landscape around it, tracing a slow negotiation between a son and a father and between the discipline of a military life and the freedom of a photographic one.
