A large-format monograph that reopens the work of Lynne Cohen, an international figure of contemporary photography, on the occasion of her exhibition at the Centre Pompidou. It presents previously unpublished pictures from the years when Cohen moved from printmaking and sculpture to the large-format camera in the 1970s, under the influence of Minimalism, Pop Art and Conceptual Art. Arranged thematically rather than serially, the selection reflects both her conceptual rigour and her irony as a lasting investigator of the configuration of social space; her rooms are empty of any human presence.
