Infinite Bonheur operates in the space between tragedy and comedy. Brittainy Lauback presents a visual exploration of the playful absurdity of the human condition, capturing the physical exhaustion of mortality and the uncontrollable laughter that so often follows grief. Through street photography, staged encounters and intimate typologies she creates a voyeuristic taxonomy of human coping mechanisms, from “women who own snakes” to “men who want to meet in hotel rooms”: a smashed Tastykake cherry pie in an empty corner, a solitary artificial Christmas tree atop a mound of dirt, the peculiar vulnerability of strangers. Life as a series of chaotic moments linked by laughter and tears.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
